The Wings of Paradise butterfly conservatory is located in Cambridge, Ontario; just over an hour's drive from Toronto. Butterflies are one of nature's most attractive creatures. They are gentle and lovely to look at; they do nothing more than help to make our world more beautiful. They feed on the nectar of certain plants and help to pollinate other plants.

The conservatory houses from 2,000 to 3,000 free-flying butterflies. In addition, Wings of Paradise has several free-flying birds, 80 species of plants and several insect species. It also features the Paradise Garden cafe which is open from 10am until 3:30pm. Weddings are welcomed and often held on the grounds of the conservatory, as are birthday parties and a summer day-camp. School groups are also welcome.

We've been to the indoor one down here in Boston.

We also have three Butterfly bushes around our house, so we get to see quite a few right here.

This is great information...I had the pleasure of visiting the Callaway Butterfly Center in Georgia a few years back. What a magical experience! It was a very hot day, and there weren't many people around, so my friends and I had the butterflies mostly to ourselves. As we walked throughout the center, the butterflies found us rather interesting and landed mostly on our legs and ankles for what I guess was a salt and mineral treat. Mostly, the landings were not expected, and the first urge was to scratch or swat, but we controlled ourselves. Great to know about this one outside of Toronto.
